Welcome to the INRS - Energy, Materials
and Telecommunications web site.
INRS-EMT is one of four centres of
INRS, itself part of University
of Quebec.
The prime objectives of INRS-EMT are to develop research programs, to encourage
scientific innovation and to provide high quality education at graduate levels
(M.Sc. and Ph.D.), in sectors strategic to Quebec’s economy, namely in the areas
of advanced materials, nanoscience and nanotechnologies, photonics,
telecommunications and energy.

The Centre intends to respond to challenges which confront the
academic world by capitalizing on the expertise that it has developed, demonstrating
innovations in interdisciplinary fields, investing on the renewal and growth of its
infrastructure, on promoting internationally its activities in research and education,
as well as investing in technology transfer. All of these efforts place INRS-EMT at the
heart of scientific and technological priorities of Quebec.
